It was so cold yesterday that I thought it had to be significant, something apocalyptic, it was Solstice afterall, something like the gulf stream had finally been pushed off shore and New England was about to be plunged into a permanent ice age. But last night the comparatively warm air came blowing down Commonwealth Ave., and you could imagine hints of redolent, pink flowers, and ripe fruits, and green creeper vines, a tropic breeze blown in from somewhere else, and the morning was glorious.
