A Rendezvous

April 25th, 2003

Liason is another Zeroconf (aka Rendezvous) implemention, for PCs and Unixes.(via Eric) Looks a bit farther along then mDNS responder that I MLPed yesterday. (maybe I’m a sucker for a good name and pretty website). See also dotlocal – zeroconf portal.

Ubiquity is when Rendezvous really gets interesting, but as Tom notes, we’ll need to rethink our interfaces before then.

And I am the only one who finds himself remixing Seeger’s:

I have a rendezvous with DNS
At some disputed barricade,
When spring comes back with rustling shade
And Apple blosxoms fill the air —
I have a rendezvous with DNS
When Spring brings back bondi blue days and fair.
