Sherman Austin, Sentenced to One Year in Federal Prison

Infoshop News – Webmaster, Sherman Austin, Sentenced to One Year in Federal Prison

Judge Wilson shocked the courtroom when he went against the recommendation of not only the prosecution, but the FBI and the Justice Department, who had asked that Austin be sentenced to 4 months in prison, and 4 months in a half-way house, with 3 years of probation.

This is all of course after he already reached a plea bargained with the Feds last October, which the judge threw out as too lenient. Too lenient for a kid putting up a web site linking to publicly available info, talking about politics, and taking pictures at protests? Oh shit, help us all.

Is it too early to start invoking …then they came for the activists…?
