Leaving on a jet plane

May 13th, 2007

T-minus 5 until jumping on BART to SFO to CGD. I’ll be around and online this week from XTech (assuming Edd has the wifi figured out). The following week I’ll be totally offline enjoying a week in/around Paris with Jasmine. Having spent so much time doing “exotic” travel I’m intrigued to see what hanging-out-in-major-Western-city-as-form-of-travel will be like.

p.s. If I haven’t gotten your Paris suggestions feel free to leave them in the comments!

See y’all in a couple of weeks.

Say hello to Paris for me Kellan. Rima and I miss it. Top 3 things you have to do in Paris: 1.) Go to Shakespeare and Company, go upstairs, sit at a desk, and write/read. They will let you do this for hours, and you meet great people. 2.) Buy good red wine, sit on a passerelle and drink it. Buy some fresh bread and eat it. 3.) Go to a nice cafe, read the newspaper, and argue about politics. I’ve always been partial to Cafe de Phares in Bastille, but if you’re into literary history you could always go Cafe de Flore in Saint-Germaine if you’re into Sarte, etc.

Ah, excellent, I’ll be there from Thursday afternoon – not officially at Xtech, but on the beer track. I’ve got a map with lots of food suggestions – as long as you like bread and cake: http://antimega.textdriven.com/antimega/2007/05/15/holidaying-fooding-talking
